ABOUT UFUK O. ARKUN
Arkun, a Turkish born fashion designer, began his career in New York after graduating from Fashion Institute of Technology in 1992.
His first collection was launched under the Arkun name-brand in his beloved city of New York in 1994.
“ARKUN – New York” was one of the first contemporary men’s collections in the market. It received immediate attention from upscale retailers in the US, Japan and Hong Kong as well as significant media response. His designs appeared in fashion magazines such as GQ, WWD, DNR and Details. His collections have been carried in Barneys New York, Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy’s West, Fred Segal, Isetan-Japan, Joyce Boutique and Lane Crawford-Hong Kong and many other fine retailers.
Arkun was selected by CFDA (The Council of Fashion Designers of America) as one of the most promising menswear designers in the country in 1998. The IWS (International Wool Secretariat) likewise named him Upcoming Menswear Designer of North America. He was honored by FIT with its Distinguished Alumni Award in 1996.
Over the years Mr. Arkun has created many collections under different labels which are sold in the US and internationally.
